Straight from the LavaLab, these 230 gram ladies tops are creatively fresh and make a bold statement with its shocking pink trims. Loudgear (our client) designed these tops to ensure  that the Queens of  Tugwell Hall at UCT are hip and happening – but this was a task intensive process that had us biting our nails right up to the last minute because of its extremely tight deadline.

Here’s a summarized version of what happened:

1. We developed patterns from scratch according to the client’s specification and size curve
2. sourced 230 gram ribbed fabric (black) at a price that was good enough to maintain the client’s budget
3. dyed the pink fabric according to clients specification
4. supplied fit samples
5. processed artwork for screen printing
6. processed artwork for digitizing
7. cut and soabarred the garment panels to ensure that all panels and sizes were easily identifiable
8. pre-planned printing and embroidery to ensure consistency in  colours for printed and embroidered finishes i.e. the print colours had to match the embroidered colours.
9. also ensuring that the sizing of the print and embroidered logos were suitable for all the garment sizes (small to 3 Xlarge)
10. sent the appropriate panels for printing (2 colours sleeve, 2 colours back)
11. sent the panels for embroidery
12. assembled the garments
13. quality checked and removed rejects
14. ironed and flat-packed
15. re-did  all rejects.

All of this in 16 days.

The result is a beautifully mass produced garment that could be mistaken for something that was bought from a designer store like YDE or Lacoste.

The days of web designers are numbered. Better technology leads to better technology and this is why technology is such a wonderful thing.  Yola is an example of the evolution of technology which allows one to build a website without having programming experience.

One thing that we’ve learnt from being an online company is that businesses that utilize the internet as their main marketing tool and make a living from it, are more likely to use other businesses that are internet based.It is probably because as an online company you know that other internet businesses are the same as you are (ethically) and therefore you are more trusting towards them. So if you are still advertising in the Yellow Pages your days are numbered as well because in this fast-paced world of business, nobody has the time (or the muscle) to pick up a heavy book to look for a company,product or service and ….it requires the turning of pages. The www is growing, so that means that there will be more people wanting to use internet based businesses, which means if you don’t have an optimised website, you are not going to be found. The internet is filled will young, time-strapped “internetters” with loads of cash who need to do business quickly.

The guys in Stellenbosch who study the Earth’s crust couldn’t resist to use Lava Ink for their t shirt job. After all, when lava cools down it forms new surfaces for them to study. Now we’re waiting for the volcanologists .

These long sleeved t shirts were branded for the Department of Geology, Geography and Environmental Science , University of Stellenbosch.

Ampere Technical Staging, based in Cape Town, South Africa, provides technical support and equipment for the events and exhibitions industries.

Lava Ink supplied these 50% polyester/ 50% cotton golf shirts which offers durability with its polyester component and comfortability with its cotton component. The garments are branded with the ampere logo using embroidery.

Viking Cape Town are suppliers of safety equipment to the maritime and fire-fighting Industries. Their headquarters are in Denmark and they have an impressive 270 service stations across the world.

This is the second part of an order that they’ve placed with us. The first was for hoodies with a reflective silver screen print.

They chose a 210 gram golfer which are of our premium quality range shirts. They also chose to embroider their logo on the front pocket position as well as below the neck on the back. We always advise embroidery for golf shirts as it gives a more upmarket appearance.

These are 100% cotton pique Lecoste styled golfers. Locally produced, they are great for the busy team as cotton breathes well and feels good. We also supply an imported, polyester/cotton blend version of the Lecoste styled golfer, which has a smoother handle.
